Under the current Memorandum of Understanding, CW/CE are required to SUCCESSFULLY complete required courses as well as achieve the required Skill Based Credits to advance to the next level. Below is a list of requirements for advancement for each CW or CE level.
Advance to CW-2 Min. 2,000 SBCs AND Conduit Bending Course
Advance to CW-3 Min. 4,000 SBCs AND Blueprint Reading Course
Advance to CW-4 Min. 6,000 SBCs AND Codeology Course
Advance to CW-5 Min. 8,000 SBCs AND DC Theory Course
Advance to CE-6 Min. 10,000 SBCs AND Electrical Systems Course
Advance to CE-7 Min. 12,000 SBCs AND Transformer Course
Advance to CE-8 Min. 14,000 SBCs AND Industrial Motor Controls Course
Advance to JIW Min. 16,000 SBCs AND Code Calculations Course AND Score 95% or better on the Evaluation Exam administered by IBEW Local 60
The courses may be taken at any time, but must be successfully completed prior to advancement as indicated above for each of the levels.
